You want to feel more confident and prepared for your speaking engagements, especially if it’s an important one like the first time delivering your signature talk or a big keynote or a TEDx talk.

But, oftentimes, our minds and thoughts get in our own way.

I first heard about NLP a few years ago in a sales context but didn’t know much about it.

Then, I had a pre-chat with my guest, Candice Czaplak, a few months ago when I was on her podcast and she mentioned she uses NLP with her clients to help them achieve their goals.

My ears perked up and I immediately saw how this could be helpful for you as a speaker.

In this episode, Candice shares with us specific techniques we can use to feel more confident and to prepare ourselves for being on stage or in any situation where we want to perform our best.

We talk about:

  • What NLP is
  • Perceptual positions and how to use them (this was really interesting)
  • How we can pre-frame the outcome we want
  • Identifying resources (could be others or ourselves) and creating a circle of excellence that we can bring with us
  • Envisioning potential obstacles and how to do it so it sets us up for ultimate success (and not putting us into a worry spiral)
